Is what Jose said to Malcolm after he ordered his Pepperoni Pizza. Malcolm shook his head, "That's not even cool. Just don't do what you said you was going to do. Two wrongs don't make a right and you-"
"No bro! I'm tired. You don't have a clue how i feel cause you Mr. Perfect. You never stress about anything and everything is just a "Let-it-be" situation. I don't get it!" Jose then snatched his pizza and walked out forgetting to pay for it.
"Sorry about that," Malcolm said calmly and aggravated to the cashier handing him the money for Jose's pizza. Jose was pacing back forth in front of the pizza shop taking big bites of his pizza every time he would pause. He was so upset he didn't realize Malcolm Staring at him still calm.
"Im not perfect Jose. I just know how to deal with situations." Jose then Stopped, grabbed his soda he threw on the floor and started walking toward the school. He then started to yell over music blasting through someone's apartment.
"You know everything right! Tell me what to do. Im trying, can't you see that!" He then finished the bottle of soda and threw it away along with the crust of pizza.Malcolm didn't say anything. He waited until the music toned down.
"Hey boys" Miss Johnson said struggling with the bag of groceries from Key-food. Jose managed to put on a fake smile and waved his hand and walked into the school.
Miss Johnson shook her head, "That boy looks real upset and always giving those fake smiles. I hope he don't do something stupid now"
Malcolm walks over to her, "Hey Ms. Johnson, Yeah i know. He is going to be alright though, Let me get those for you." He grabs the bags and helps her put them in the shopping cart. "You are such a gentlemen. Thank you sweetie. Yes your brother will be alright cause he has you," They both smile. "Thank you Ms. Johnson. Need anything else?"
"You did enough babe, i'll call Derick and tell him to come down. Go and find your brother now."
"No problem." He then ran into the school and went to class. Jose wasn't in class.
"Not at all! You suppose to be my boy and you violate me like that!" Malcolm ran outside into the hall and saw Jose's hands clenched in front of DJ, Who supposedly slept with Melanie, Jose girlfriend.
"First of all you need to back up. Second, I don't even talk to her like that. I say hello and goodbye. Simple," Dj said confused and stepped back. Melanie stood there and didn't say a word. Malcolm reached them.
"On a serious note right now Jose, i know you mad but we need to get a test done for Ms. Dion and you know damn well this grade will determine if you going to that college you want. Lets go," Malcolm said fed up with the drama. He gave Jose a light shove away from Dj and Melanie. Jose looked at Malcolm. He stood there for a minute then turned and looked at Melanie and then DJ.
"You lucky." Jose said and then walked with his brother back to class with out looking back.
This was the last period. Jose knows he wasn't in the mind of state to take the test. He kept thinking about the situation and it kept making him more upset.
"You can go Malcolm. i just want to stay right here." He put his head down with his arms crossed, putting his chin in his arms. Malcolm didn't want to leave him and didn't.
"I know how you feel. Like i was saying i'm not perfect. I been through it. I just never said nothing because no one can really help me with the situation but myself. Only you can help yourself right now. I'm just trying to guide you bro. Not everyone is your friend. You just learning that through a bad situation but just know family will always be family." Malcolm moved his chair in closer to him and looked at Jose who was still staring at the board with Glossy, puppy eyes. He then turned and looked at Malcolm and said in almost a whisper.
"How did you help yourself?" Malcolm Put his hand and patted his brothers back.
"Let god do what he gotta do. Let it be," Malcolm smiled and Jose laughed.
"I don't even know why i asked you that question."
Malcolm laughed, "but do you see me stress?"
"Not at all."
"So it should tell you something, Lets get going, I'm hungry," Malcolm said getting up shoving his brother head making Jose laugh. As they walked toward the door jose told Malcolm he will meet him at the pizzeria. He then jogged to Ms dion who was sitting on her desk grading the tests.
"Hey Ms. Dion, Sorry i came in late, but did you grade my test yet, if so may i know what i got please?"
Ms.Dion looked up and shook her head with a smirk, "Don't let it happen again. Yes i did and you need to wait until Monday but here look and then leave."
Jose smiled and looked at the his grade. 93. He was shocked himself, "Wow, I did good."
"You did great Jose," she smiled and he said thank you and ran to catch up with Malcolm at the pizzeria. He walked to him
"Yo jose my main man. Wanna do me a fav for a minute?" Derick gave Jose a five.
"What you need?"
"If you can just run this to my moms real quick."
Jose laughed, "Yeah if you get me two slices."
"No doubt i got you, Yo shorty let me get 2 slices," Derick yelled.
Jose walked out the shop and saw Ms Johnson sitting with her lady friends.
"Hey Jose, How you doing?"
He handed her the pizza and smiled, "Im fine Ms.Johnson, Derrick told me to give this to you, He ordering mines now."
"Thank you baby, Im glad to hear you fine. And boy your smile this time was a smile, Not like the one i saw earlier," She smiled and he laughed.
"Yeah Malcolm calmed me down. The boy has words of wisdom. I don't know what i would do with out-"
As he was talking he looked across the street and saw Dj with his crew, he counted at least 8 boys walking towards the pizzeria. Melanie was with them. They walked inside. Dj spotted him and pulled Melanie close to him, watching jose while making out with her.
"You alright jose?" Ms. Johnson said worried.
"Ye-yeah im fine., i think my food is ready, i'll see you later." He then ran to the pizzeria furious and Malcolm saw him, gave his food to Derick and held Jose back by pulling him outside.
"That don't look like no Hello and Goodbye to me!" Jose yelled. Dj looked at him and laughed but he couldn't hear what Dj said cause he was outside.
"Derrick take him up right-"
"Let me go Bro! What the hell!" Jose said said yelling and trying to brake free from Malcolm.
He didn't let go and took him upstairs. Derrick Followed still holding their food. They got upstairs and Malcolm followed Jose slamming the door leaving derrick in the living room.
"Im not even going to give another speech cause it don't seem to click with you. All im going to say is get locked or have a future kid cause i know once you put your hands on Dj, that's it for his life. I know you fed up with him. Get it through your head. THATS NOT YOU BOY!!" I don't need a dead brother." Jose never seen his brother that upset and just looked at him in silence. Malcolm walked out the room. He just sat there thinking about all the things he been through with situations like this. Always being betrayed by others. He knew his brother was right. He then fell asleep. Malcolm Walked into the living room.
"Thanks," he said to derrick who was watching the giants game. Derrick gave him the food and left to see his mom. He put Jose's food into the microwave and ate his. He then watched the rest of the Giants game and fell asleep.
Jose woke up hearing a knock on the door thinking it was his mom.
"He told me it was over and im not worth nothing, " Melanie said crying trying to hug Jose
"Guess what, He is right," he slammed the door in her face which woke up Malcolm. Jose went and sat down next to him.
"You real cool bro," Jose Said.
"I know, if only your breathe was like that right now," They both laughed hard.

Big Paper final draft
FEED
In Feed, the author emphasized very clearly how digital devices are killing our essence of human nature. Not only has it killed violet physically which is very dramatic but it stresses the fact that we are addicted to it and we live around it. When violet tries to tell Titus about the world, he doesn't care much, demonstrating how we are blinded by what's around us. We don't know half of the things that are going around in the world because honestly it does not entertain us. Since we are introduced to the entertaining life style, why do something that is considered boring. For example Titus and his friends went to the moon. Now if we can go to the moon in our feeds, we would not walk anywhere or be able to dream. All our dreams will be fulfilled and then what? This feed is like a rush through life. You get what you want right then and there. You get prices and shop and we are not born to do such. Many people do not even shop at stores, which can cause people to lose sale jobs. Instead we have programmed customer service people online helping you make a shoe order. The feed causes us to lose the essence of doing natural things we were born to do.
MUSIC:
After looking at the video on my blog, which talked about the recording process of music, you will know the huge effect it has caused on artist. Since we can record digitally we are able to sing or rap a chorus and loop it instead of recording it again. When we mess up in a certain part, I can just cut the part and record just that part. So when recording artist would not have to worry about messing up. Before, we recorded with analogs and if you messed up, there was no recording just that part. You have to do it all over again. So you can see it gives artist less confidence when recording. Personally if I mess up when making a song, I start all over and record because when performing my song, I will look like a fool if I didn't say what I said in my song the same way. For example when some singers songs play on the radio we expect them to sound the same but that's not the case for some. Some sound horrible and then that tells the audience that music artists are fake. Music is all-digital. Music to me is not the same anymore; regardless of the stupid songs kids make, but auto-tunes is what makes music fake. It sounds hot making your voice all electrically and wavy but it's still not real. Music comes from the soul and you speak the truth but now it's a competition between who got the best dance song or auto-tune, nothing real.
MY EXPERIENCE:
There was a day I tried and didn't use my voice all day or the computer, something I use often for significant reasons. While doing this I caught myself connecting to me more. It's hard to explain but I was able to think more about what was going on in my life. So digital representations have been a distraction to me and since that experiment, I take more time out for me. I would write music, read, talk to someone physically or watch sitcoms, which causes me to think. I hear many people say they are lost in the world. They don't know who they are but with distractions around, many people might not find themselves at all.
IGNORING ME:
When I was interviewing my bestie, I wouldn't say she was ignoring me but talking on the phone distracted her. It's weird to see how someone would rather talk to someone on the phone than talk to the person right in front of him or her. It shows how we are losing our nature to connect with other physically. We should want to connect with someone physically then over aim. Many people have discussions that need to be talked about in person so things can be clearer. Over aim, text, face book, etc, people misunderstand word making things more difficult.
CONNECTING WITH OTHERS:
Digital devices are interfering with connecting more. I realized many people I know couldn’t chat with people in person because either they don't know how too. We are immune to texting words because we can think about what we are saying, change a few words and then send. In person, you need to think before you can talk and your words can be confusing. When someone talks too much you just can't "close conversation". It just causes much friction between people.
In Feed Titus did not talk to Victoria when she really needed it. He lost the sense of emotions due to the feed but when reality hit him, that's where he came back and connected with himself and the situation. I just realized that we hide behind the screens. For myself, I hide behind music because I do not know how to deal with some of my issues. Maybe if we all stop hiding and face it, we can overcome many obstacles that are layed in our future.
While reading carries blog she mentioned how "...Maybe that's why people type "Lol" or "Jk" so much, to lighten the mood and let the other person know not the take it offensively. For example, "Whatever" can be misinterpreted as anger or rudeness if an "Lol" isn't added after it." This is so true. Back to what I said, when we text people can misunderstand what is said. So basically using these devices can cause more drama then necessary.
In WAll-E, the only way people talked was through the screen. Thousands of people around the same area yet, just like my best friend, they would talk to someone through a screen then physically talk. Not only do they have seats floating around, they have robots being their slave. As a whole society we are getting lazier.
Personally, after this unit I changed a lot or thought about things more. I realized the time I use doing not important things on the Internet. Instead of that I will do useful things such as learning something new. At night I will take time out, walk around and think about things. It's really relaxing and i'm glad I can do it.
CONCLUSION:
To me this topic of digitalization is not debatable. Using these devices is not our nature. We hide behind our emotions through devices instead of accepting and trying to deal with it. We are losing our essence of communicating with others. It seems the only way people can meet others besides school, & programs, its through chat line networks. We are disconnecting from ourselves and I’m not saying digital devices are bad. Too many is distracted by it and it's not something we must need but because the way our society is structured. It's causing us to be dependent on it. I know that our essence in our human nature is not loss. We are blinded by it and it's time we unfold it.

Second Text
First off I just love how the chapter ended in the games chapter. What is really fun about getting frustrated and reading the guidelines books, which consumes much time? This chapter was very clear about how games can be good for the brain and somewhat bad. He emphasis the fact about how our society is losing it’s essence of reading. Compared to games, why be isolated when you can play and learn and read less with our peers. Then again reading is the powerful source that everyone needs. With T.V, we are learning to solve more complex issues, which cause’s our minds to think.
I agree with everything said about gaming and television. When watching TV, I do learn a lot even watching Sitcoms. I do choose to watch Intelligent shows such as the discovery Channel, Cold file cases etc. I know they are intelligent because they cause me to think which I learned from the reading. There are shows where you can just zone out and not think at all which does cause our minds to be lazy so in reality it depends on what you watch. Now when playing video games I honestly think it’s a good advantage. For example I have The Condemned for 360, which is a FBI type of game. They do not give any directions at all! So I feel more intense because I feel like if I die in the game then I died. It’s weird so the game is teaching me a lot about survival skills and I’m not using a guidebook because it’s a cheat. I want to challenge my mind.
Now when they both talk about reading, it caught me off guard a little because I really don’t read much when I’m watching TV or playing the game. I feel that these DRD are not taking away any of my abilities though. I do enjoy reading but everything does distract me and that’s probably what’s happening in our society. We just need to learn how to make our learning engaging to ourselves.

It’s how we choose it to be. Once again it’s about the choices we make.

To create the plot which leads to the tragedy of Violets death, M.T. Anderson uses teenagers in a love story to emphasize the effect of digital representations in our society. To me the idea of turning it to a love story grabs the attention of many because we love to hear and read about them. It stresses the point clearly through the situation, how it's destroying us. The fact that he states the conflict with no solution leaves the reader thinking. It demonstrates reality, problems always erupting with no solution at the beginning. We become immune to the problem where there are no solutions to it. Him leaving us clueless causes us to think. He wants us to figure out the solution which is a very good technique to make the reader think.
I feel if the book was made into a movie it will not be most effective as it is through the text. Movies give us imagery causing our brains to be lazy. It shows us how it's suppose to be. For example when many read twilight, they had a movie set in their mind, very different from the movie, causing them to be disappointed. Leaving Feed as a non set imagination text cause many to be free and set their own movies. If it was made into a movie, i feel it will cause me to look at is as a animation and i won't really care. It will just be a thought i see and i would not think of anything major after it's over.

Therfore seeing something new all the time, a new idea or realizing something you haven't realized before so I want my art to be like a growing soul in a mirror.
